Up to the point of the recent elections in the Palestinian “occupied” territories, it seemed that Fatah (what was the ruling party with Mahmoud Abbas as its leader) was in opposition to Hamas (who won the majority of seats and now controls the Parliament and the Palestinian Arabs). After all, they had some serious clashes already over their disagreements with how things should be done. The corruption in the Palestinian Authority is well known and documented, and Hamas emphasized that matter over and over again in the days before the election on January 25, 2006.

The USA under President Bush and Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice has withdrawn its support and withheld its monies and insists it will not work with HAMAS until they renounce terror and recognize the sovereign State of Israel which they have refused to do. Even the European Union is withholding support over this issue. In the meantime, Saudi Arabia has offered to give $100 million to the Palestinians to hold them over while things are being worked out.

Now we learn that FATAH is fighting back (so to speak) and saying what HAMAS has said and more. They are now calling for a Palestinian State from the Dead Sea to the Mediterranean! In case you were not aware of it – this would completely eliminate Israel! They are promising all-out attacks on the Israelis and intend to drive them into the Mediterranean if they do not get out of the entire land! Everything we predicted would happen is happening! The situation grows more tense each day. What will Israel do? The former Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, intends to stop this unbelievable policy that the current government has pursued. He will run his campaign on the platform of putting a stop to the terrorism and the ridiculous plans to remove Jewish families out of the Biblical heartland of Judea and Samaria. The problem he has is that several of the Likud Party (of which he is the leader) members have left to join Kadima, the new Party of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon (still in a coma) that is now led by former Jerusalem Mayor, Ehud Olmert.

The whole situation needs prayer! Pray that the leaders in Israel will return to the God of the Bible and give absolute loyalty and commitment to His covenant (everlasting and unconditional) that gave the land to them in the first place!

More later.

Hamas (terrorist organization dedicated to the destruction of Israel) has clearly won a majority of votes in the Palestinian elections this week! Apparently they have won a majority in every one of the 16 districts in the Palestinian Authority’s controlled areas, including Jerusalem! Out of the 132 seats in the legislature, Hamas has won nearly 75 of them. The Fatah Prime Minister Abu Alla has already resigned, and the PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas is considering it as well.

Hamas leader Mahmoud A-Zahar said immediately upon hearing the news of their victory at the polls: “The armed struggle will continue, and it will cause Israel to make great concessions, and will change the way Egypt and Jordan relate to Israel as well.”

Israel’s Ehud Yalom (Likud party) said: “Hamas might want to negotiate with us but we are not allowed to speak with any organization that is dedicated to our destruction.”

US President George Bush (news conference live on Thursday morning, January 26) made it clear that the US will NOT support any government in the Middle East that is bent on the destruction of the State of Israel. While we appreciate his bold stance at this point, we are concerned about what he will do in the future when the options are limited to working with Hamas.

Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom said: “Israel made a very grave mistake when it allowed Hamas to participate in these elections. The international community will now find every justification to have dialogue with Hamas, claiming that they won democratic elections, even though we invested such great efforts to have the world include Hamas on its outlawed list of terror organizations.

Across the Islamic world of the Middle East there has been great celebrations. Islamic speeches have declared that terrorism works and the elections are the proof. They now believe that it will be a matter of a few years before Israel is completely destroyed and removed from the Middle East!

For those of you who read our articles on a regular basis, you know that we are pro-Israel, and have a firm commitment to the LORD GOD of Israel and His unconditional and everlasting covenant to the people of Israel. We can see the hand of the Lord in all this – God is working out His prophetic plan and we are headed toward Armageddon! May God give us all wisdom and total dependence upon Him and His Word. May His protection and guidance be upon the leaders and people of Israel and may the leadership return to the God of the Bible and once again remember that this land was given to them by God alone! Pray for Israel at this critical time! It is also our prayer that the millions of Arabs (many Christians) who are going to be deeply affected by what has happened – will be protected and that many will come to know a personal relationship with the Messiah of Israel – YESHUA HAMASHIACH!

Often people read our news about Israel and our articles and do not believe that we are presenting a “balanced” picture. One of these issues deals with the terrorist group HAMAS. Since they are supported so heavily by Palestinian Arabs (or so the media reports!), then why do we keep insisting that they are “terrorists” and not simply “freedom fighters” – trying to get back the land which belongs to them?

Well, consider the following:

1. The land does NOT belong to them – read the Bible – it is clear. The land belongs to the physical descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob – NOT the descendants of Ishmael.

2. Israel was given this land under international terms by both the League of Nations and the United Nations. A Jewish homeland was planned by the Balflour Declaration of 1917 AD and the boundaries of the Middle East countries were determined after World War I.

3. Israel was attacked by seven Muslim countries who boasted that they would wipe out all Jews from the land – it did not work out the way they had planned, and as a result of God’s intervention, Israel was born in May of 1948 AD.

4. Israel is continually attacked by radical Islamic terrorists whose only point of unity is hatred and violence toward Israel and the desire to destroy the State of Israel and annihilate all Jews!

5. Israel is NOT the “aggressor” and does NOT possess any “occupied land” that belongs to Arabs – that is the biggest lie and fabrication of the present culture and media!

6. HAMAS is a radical terrorist organization financed by both Iran and Saudi Arabia, with strong ties to Syria and other terrorist groups who are dedicated to the destruction of the State of Israel.

HAMAS has a covenant which explains their true intentions – please read it carefully and prayerfully!

In the “Introduction” it reads: “our struggle aginst the Jews is extremely wide-ranging and grave, so much so that it will need all the loyal efforts we can wield, to be followed by further steps and reinforced by successive battalions from the multifarious Arab and Islamic world, unto the enemies are defeated and Allah’s victory prevails.”

The so-called “covenant” also reads: “The Islamic Resistance Movement is a distinct Palestinian Movement which owes its loyalty to Allah, derives from Islam its way of life and strives to raise the banner of Allah over every inch of Palestine.” (Article 6)

Article 28 reads: “Israel by virtue of its being Jewish and of having a Jewish population, defies Islam and the Muslims.” So much for a “peaceful religion”!

Article 28 also says that “the Arab states surrounding Israel are required to open their borders to the Jihad fighters, the sons of the Arab and Islamic peoples, to enable them to play their role and to join their efforts to those of their brothers among the Muslim Brothers in Palestine.”

Article 33 reads: “until the decree of Allah is fulfilled, the ranks are over-swollen, Jihad fighters join other Jihad fighters, and all this accululation sets out from everywhere in the Islamic world, obeying the call of duty, and intoning ‘Come on, join Jihad!’ This call will tear apart the clouds in the skies and it will continue to ring until liberation is completed, the invaders are vanquished and Allah’s victory sets in.”

Article 13 says: “There is no solution to the Palestinian problem except by Jihad (holy war against the Jews).”

Article 13 also says: “Peace initiatives, the so-called peaceful solutions, and the international conferences to resolve the Palestinian problem, are all contrary to the beliefs of the Islamic Resistance Movement. For renouncing any part of Palestine means renouncing part of the religion.”

When are we ever going to listen? HAMAS is NOT a political partner for peace! They, along with Islamic Jihad, Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, Hizbollah, and other terrorist groups, are dedicated to the total and complete destruction of the State of Israel and the annihilation of all Jews!

It is time for the governments of the world to realize radical Islam is an enemy and has no desire for peace!

God’s promise still stands (Jeremiah 31:35-37) – the NATION of ISRAEL will NEVER CEASE to EXIST – that promise is an everlasting and unconditional covenant of God to demonstrate His faithfulness to what He promises! This is a religious war of global proportions – a war between the false god of Islam and the true God of Israel!

May God give us hearts to reach the millions of precious Muslims who are trapped in a hatred and violence that only the Messiah can remove!

One of the five pillars of Islam is the pilgrimage to Hajj. And, what did this important religious “pillar” bring to two million Muslims? Mohammedi Reyshahri delivered a speech written by an Iranian spiritual leader in which he criticized the “mercenary government of Israel” and the “Satanic policies of international Zionism.” During the speech, these “pilgrims” revealing their true motives and religious zeal held up yellow placards which read “DEATH TO AMERICA!” and pink placards reading “DEATH TO ISRAEL!” Remind yourself that this important and major event of Islam was held in Saudi Arabia, which the US has been saying is one of our important Middle Eastern allies. This country has spoken often about the importance of human rights and has called for the Middle East to have a form of democracy. After the US expressed its disappointment and concern for these circumstances, the Saudi government has said nothing – not one reply!

Islam continues to spread its message of hatred toward the United States of America and toward its democratic ally the State of Israel. There has been no change whatsoever. The historic hostility of Islam toward Jews and Christians continues all over the world wherever Islam becomes the dominant religion and controls the political situation. It is a religion built on hate and violence, not peace (no matter what their leaders or our political leaders have said).

Americans are being “lulled to sleep” about the true motives and goals of Islam. We have opened our borders to thousands of Muslims and have “bent over backwards” to show toleration and acceptance. We are being rewarded with more hatred by radical Islamic leadership. It is not stopped. It is a continuous barrage that is rooted deeply in the belief that the will of Allah (what they call “God”) is that Islam eventually controls the world!

But, the GOD of ISRAEL will not tolerate this! Judgment Day is coming for all those who try to “curse” Israel and kill the Jewish people. God is not mocked – a day of reckoning is coming exactly like the Hebrew prophets foretold. When all nations come against Israel, they are coming against the LORD God and His Messiah, our blessed LORD YESHUA! Zechariah 12:9 says that the Messiah will destroy all such nations! Our hope is in the LORD GOD of ISRAEL!

Our weapons are NOT “carnal” – they are “mighty” but not military! Our weapons can “pull down strong holds” and “cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledg of God” and they bring into “captivity” every thought to the obedience of the Messiah Himself! (read II Corinthians 10:3-5) We believe in the power of prayer! We believe that there is only one true God and that He is not represented by the teachings of Islam. He calls Himself the “GOD OF ISRAEL” over 200 times and the “LORD GOD OF ISRAEL” 108 times – Make no mistake about it – if you attack ISRAEL, you are attacking the “apple of His eye” – God has NEVER forsaken His people ISRAEL and has NEVER broken His covenant with them!

While Prime Minister Ariel Sharon continues to fight for his life and doctors continue to do all they can to bring him back to a measure of normality, the United States has done what seems to be at this point an unbelievable act of “undermining” the interim leadership of Israel!

Israel has been opposed to the involvement of the terrorist organization of HAMAS in the proposed elections in the Palestinian territories on January 25, 2006. US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has sent an oral message from US President George Bush to Abu Mazen’s (acting President of Palestinian Authority) office with the following guarantees:
1. That all Palestinian parties would be allowed to campaign openly in East Jerusalem (including Hamas)
2. That eligible voters in the city of Jerusalem would be allowed to cast their votes through local post offices
3. That voter slips of ALL Palestinian parties without exception would be available in the balloting booths

What sounds like a very democratic procedure has some disturbing implications to it.

1. The Israeli government was not informed of this decision by Bush, showing a lack of respect and openness of Israel’s sovereignty.

2. The Bush Administration took advantage of the difficult situation with Prime Minister Sharon’s condition and the temporary placement of Ehud Olmert in that position (for only a week now).

3. Olmert’s failure to act decisively about the Jerusalem situation – now Hamas can fly their green flags and hold rallies on the Temple Mount, the very group that now is calling for the destruction completely of the State of Israel!

What is so shocking about all of this, is the way the US government is imposing its will upon the State of Israel at this crucial time. The position of the US government about not allowing known terrorists to participate has now all been changed. The results will be catastrophic as it relates to the future of Israel.

Those of us who are strong supporters of the LORD God of Israel and of the unconditional and eternal covenant of God with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and their descendants concerning the NATION and the LAND – are deeply concerned about the direction of our government. We pray that God will open their eyes to the truth. We need to pray for our leaders exactly like I Timothy 2:1-4 says!

As a further note, it is interesting that Democratic Senator from Illinois, Barack Obama, is now in Israel to meet with both sides and see the situation for himself.

Israel’s Public Security Minister, Gideon Ezra, said: “Only those who do not represent extremist groups will receive permission to campaign.” Apparently he did not know of this new decision by the US President.

It is astounding how much “hatred” is given to Jewish people and the Nation of Israel. It is found in messages by Christian preachers who show their bias and their commitment to “replacement theology” by what they say. It is evident every Friday in the mosques of the Middle East as the leaders incite their people to violence against Israel. They blame Israel for all the problems of the world and insist that the only solution to world peace is to annihilate the Jews and destroy the State of Israel! The Palestinian Authority (which is no authority at all!) is now encouraging severe hatred and hostility toward the Jewish people and agreeing with Iran’s rebellious President who insists that Europe set up a homeland for the Jews in the Middle East so that Islam could “finish” the work which Hitler started! Unbelievable!

The media in the USA and in other Western nations continues to be biased in its presentations of the problems in the Middle East. The line of thinking is clear: Israel is to be condemned and Muslims are to be supported! The governments of the world are so hypocritical in doing business with Israel for material profit and gain but they criticize Israel for that which they did not do or start. Does anyone in journalism today care about the facts? Internet web sites are full of lies, fabrications, and myths about Israel and the Jewish people. If the same kind of anger was directed toward Islam, they would not stand for it but would in fact – kill those who spoke such hatred against them!

Yeshua said: “Ye shall be hated of all nations for My name’s sake.” He also said “If they hated Me, they will hate you; if they persecuted Me, they will persecute you.” How true it is!

God’s curse will fall on any individual or nation that hates the Jewish people, the physical descendants of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and his twelve sons (Genesis 12:3; 39:28) May God open our eyes!

Many times we are asked the question: “Why so much emphasis on ISRAEL?” With all the problems in the world, why focus on one little country in the Middle East? Good questions.

Israel is mentioned 2566 times in the Bible – that is the biggest subject next to the LORD Himself! That is certainly a good reason for understanding the Bible’s teaching about Israel and its central place in God’s prophetic program.

Isaiah 51:16 simply says to Israel: “THOU ART MY PEOPLE.” God has many wonderful things to say about Israel that causes us to realize why it is so important. Let’s consider a few of them:

Isaiah 43:1 says “the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and He that formed thee, O Israel.” In Isaiah 43:7 we read: “For I have created him for My glory.” And in Isaiah 43:15 it says “I am the LORD, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King.”

The word “created” in Isaiah 43 is the Hebrew word “bara” which is used in Genesis 1:1 when we read “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

Deuteronomy 7:6-9 says “the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto Himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.” Isaiah 41:8 says: “But thou, Israel, art My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen.” In Isaiah 43:10 it says “My servant whom I have chosen.” Isaiah 44:1 adds: “Israel, whom I have chosen.” In verse 2, “O Jacob, My servant; and thou Jesurun, whom I have chosen.”

Based on God’s choice, Israel is the most important nation on the face of the earth!

Isaiah 43:1 says “I have called thee by thy name; thou art Mine”
Isaiah 43:7 adds: “called by My name” Isaiah 45:3 says: “I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.” Isaiah 45:4: “I have even called thee by thy name.” Isaiah 48:1 – “called by the name of Israel.” In Isaiah 48:12 we read: “Israel, my called” and in verse 15: “I have called him” and in Isaiah 49:1 – “The LORD hath called me.”

It is quite obvious for the Biblical evidence that Israel is a special people, created, chosen, and called by God to fulfill His purposes.

Isaiah 44:26 says: “That confimreth the word of His servant and performeth the counself of His messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof.” Isaiah 46:3 says: “Hearken unto Me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel…” And, in verse 10 – “My counsel shall stand and I will do all My pleasure” and in verse 11: “I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purpose it, I will also do it.” Psalm 105:10 says: “and confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant.”

Genesis 15:18 tells us that the LORD “made a covenant” with Abram.” In Genesis 17:7-8 we learn: “I will establish My covenant between Me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an EVERLASTING COVENANT…and I will give thee…all the land of Canaan for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.” Psalm 89:34 adds: “My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of My lips.” Psalm 105:8 says “He hath remembered His covenant for ever” and verse 10 adds, “to Israel for an EVERLASTING COVENANT.”

Isaiah 40:1 says “Comfort ye, comfort ye, My people, saith your God.” Isaiah 44:21 says “O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of Me” and Isaiah 49:13 adds: “for the LORD hath comforted His people.” Isaiah 51:3 says: “For the LORD shall comfort Zion: He will comfort all her waste places; and He will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; for joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.” Isaiah 51:12 says “I, even I, am He that comforteth you.” Isaiah 52:9 – “for the LORD hath comforted His people” and Isaiah 66:13: “As one whom his mother comforteth so will I comfort you.”

It is a commitment based on the PLAN He has to save them – read carefully the great words and promises of Romans 11:25-36. Isaiah 43:25 says: “I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.” In Isaiah 44:22 we read: “I have blotted out, aas a thick cloud, thy sins: return unto Me; for I have redeemed thee.” Isaiah 45:17 says: “But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation.” In Isaiah 45:25 – “In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified.” In Isaiah 46:13 – “I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.”
Isaiah 53:5-6 gives this wonderful words: “But He (the Messiah) was wounded for our transgression, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on Him (the Messiah) the iniquity of us all.” Isaiah 62:11 adds: “Behold the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, His reward is with Him, and His work before Him.”

This commitment of the LORD God of Israel to His people Israel is also based on the PROTECTION He would give them. Isaiah 41:13-14 says: “For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not, I will help thee. Fear not, thou worm Jacob and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD and thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.” Isaiah 43:2 gives these encouraging words to Israel: “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee; when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned: neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.” Isaiah 48:16 says: “Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of My hands.”

This commitment of the LORD God of Israel is based not only on His PLAN, and His PROTECTION, but all on the PURPOSE He has to be glorified through His people Israel. Isaiah 40:5 says: “And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.” Isaiah 43:7 says “for I have created him for My glory.” Isaiah 43:21 adds: “This people have I formed for Myself; they shall shew forth My praise.” Isaiah 44:23 says: “The LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified Himself in Israel.” Isaiah 49:3 adds: “Thou art My servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.” Isaiah 60:21 says: “Thy people also shall be all righteous; they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of My planting, the work of My hands, that I may be glorified.” Isaiah 61:3 adds: “that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He might be glorified.”

This commitment of the LORD God of Israel to His people Israel is not only based on His PLAN, His PROTECTION, and His PURPOSE, but it is also based on the clear, direct PROMISES of His Word! Isaiah 40:3 says “for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.” Isaiah 46:10 says: “My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure.” Isaiah 46:11 adds: “I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purpose it, I will also do it.” Isaiah 55:11 says: “So shall My word be that goeth forth out of My mouth: it shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

Let’s face it – ISRAEL IS GOD’S CREATION, CHOICE, CALLING, CONFIRMATION, COVENANT, COMFORT, AND COMMITMENT! The evidence is overwhelming! ISRAEL IS THE MOST IMPORTANT SUBJECT NEXT TO THE LORD HIMSELF! A failure to know about Israel will lead to many wrong interpretations of the Bible and misapplications of what God has clearly said.

God meant it when He said: “I WILL BLESS THOSE WHO BLESS THEE, AND CURSE HIM THAT CURSETH THEE!” May we have a new and strong support of the Nation of Israel and understand clearly the heart of GOD concerning this serious matter!
