AL-QAEDA BOMBING PLOT FOILED!
by Hillel Fendel (IsraelNationalNews)

Two women have been arrested in Yemen in connection with an apparent Al-Qaeda plot to blow up either an airplane or a Chicago synagogue – or both.

Two synagogues in Chicago were the addresses of explosives packages sent from Yemen and discovered en-route in the United Arab Emirates and Britain. One, discovered at a British airport, contained enough explosives to bring down an airplane, according to British Home Secretary Theresa May. The other, found in Dubai, the UAE’s largest city, was similarly powerful.

The plot was uncovered when police were informed of the possibility of an explosive device in packages aboard a FedEx flight to Dubai. The Saudi Arabian government provided the tracking numbers of the packages, which were then tracked down and neutralized.

Yemeni sources, including a government official, said that a woman believed to be connected to the plot had been arrested in Sanaa,Yemen’s capital, where the packages originated. It was later announced that the woman’s mother was also arrested.

It is not clear where the bombs were meant to be detonated. “We believe that the device was designed to go off on the airplane,” British Prime Minister David Cameron said, but added that there can be no certainty where this was to take place – or whether the terrorists themselves would have been able to know where the bomb was at any given time.

CNN reported that a U.S. law enforcement official said that all the packages from Yemen that authorities were looking for have been found and “no longer pose a threat.” Yemen is the stronghold of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.

The bombs contained PETN, a highly explosive organic compound used in last year’s would-be bombing of a Northwest Airlines flight near Detroit. It is estimated that each bomb contained some 400 grams of PETN – nearly 70 times the amount needed to blow a hole in the fuselage of an aircraft.

U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano said the plot appears to be an Al-Qaeda scheme. “We know that the perpetrators of this — and it has the hallmarks of al Qaeda, the AQAP — they are constantly trying things to test our system,” she said.

The bombs, packed in toner cartridges and designed to be detonated by a cell phone, were connected via electric circuit to a mobile phone chip tucked in a printer.

U.S. President Obama thanked King Abdullah for Saudi Arabia’s key role in disrupting the plot, the White House announced, while a Yemen Embassy spokesman in Washington said that Yemen is cooperating with the U.S. and England in investigating the plot. Obama’s counterterrorism advisor John Brennan spoke to Yemeni President Ali Abdallah Saleh, stressing “the importance of close counterterrorism cooperation, including the need to work together on the ongoing investigation into the events over the past few days.”

SYRIA HELPED HIZBULLAH AMASS SOME 40,000 MISSILES!

Hizbullah, Lebanon’s Iran/Syria-backed guerilla organization that became a key player in the Beirut govermnent, has amassed some 40,000 missiles, the French daily Le Figaro reported, saying that Damascus had a major role in replenishing the group’s arsenal after its 2006 war with Israel.

The report also shed new light on the structure of Hizbullah’s military wing.
Le Figaro cited the United States as having observed that alliance in January, when its radar spotted 26 missiles M-6002 in the area between Damascus and Syria’s border with Lebanon.

According to Le Figaro, Hizbullah has more than 10,000 fighters, and that its weapons transport system is divided into three units: Unit 108 is responsible for transferring weapons and ammunition from Damascus to Hizbullah bases on the LEBANON border near the Syrian airport. Unit 112 transports the weapons from those bases into Lebanon; third is Unit 100, which deals with deployment and training.

Satellite photos taken in March of last year and caught earlier this month show that the Syrian army has a Scud missile base near Damascus. While the images also suggest that activists are being trained in the Scuds’ use at the base, Syria denies reports that it has supplied the militant group with those weapons.

The photos can be seen by any web surfer on Google Earth. They show extensive construction at several military bases throughout Syria, including at one of the country’s three largest missile bases, located 25 kilometers northeast of Damascus, near the city of Adra.

The base is in a deep valley surrounded by 400-meter-high mountains. Concrete tunnels lead from the base into the mountains, where the Scuds are apparently stored.

The photos show five 11-meter-long missiles (the length of both the Scud B and the Scud C ) at the Adra base. Three are on trucks in a parking lot. Two others are in a training area where 20 to 25 people can be made out along with about 20 vehicles. One of the two missiles appears to be mounted on a mobile launcher; another is on the ground.

IMPORTANCE OF VOTING AND CHRISTIAN INVOLVEMENT IN THE POLITICAL ARENA – article posted on Wallbuilders

(EDITOR’S NOTE: The question of “WHY WE SHOULD VOTE?” is given to us by many of our listeners. It is a very important question that needs an answer. The following list of opinions from past American leaders is encouraging – take a few moments and read through the list – and be sure to vote!)

JOHN ADAMS
We electors have an important constitutional power placed in our hands: we have a check upon two branches of the legislature, as each branch has upon the other two; the power I mean of electing at stated periods, one branch, which branch has the power of electing another. It becomes necessary to every subject then, to be in some degree a statesman: and to examine and judge for himself of the tendencies of political principles and measures.
[John Adams, The Papers of John Adams, Robert J. Taylor, ed. (Cambridge: Belknap Press, 1977), Vol. 1, p. 81, from “‘U’ to the Boston Gazette” written on August 29, 1763.]

SAMUEL ADAMS
Let each citizen remember at the moment he is offering his vote that he is not making a present or a compliment to please an individual – or at least that he ought not so to do; but that he is executing one of the most solemn trusts in human society for which he is accountable to God and his country.
[Samuel Adams, The Writings of Samuel Adams, Harry Alonzo Cushing, editor (New York: G.P. Putnam’s Sons, 1907), Vol. IV, p. 256, in the Boston Gazette on April 16, 1781.]

Nothing is more essential to the establishment of manners in a State than that all persons employed in places of power and trust be men of unexceptionable characters. The public cannot be too curious concerning the character of public men.
[Samuel Adams, The Writings of Samuel Adams, Harry Alonzo Cushing, editor (New York: G.P. Putnam’s Sons, 1907), Vol. III, p. 236-237, to James Warren on November 4, 1775.]

MATTHIAS BURNETT
Consider well the important trust . . . which God . . . [has] put into your hands. . . . To God and posterity you are accountable for [your rights and your rulers]. . . . Let not your children have reason to curse you for giving up those rights and prostrating those institutions which your fathers delivered to you. . . . [Look well to the characters and qualifications of those you elect and raise to office and places of trust. . . . Think not that your interests will be safe in the hands of the weak and ignorant; or faithfully managed by the impious, the dissolute and the immoral. Think not that men who acknowledge not the providence of God nor regard His laws will be uncorrupt in office, firm in defense of the righteous cause against the oppressor, or resolutly oppose the torrent of iniquity. . . . Watch over your liberties and privileges – civil and religious – with a careful eye.]
[Matthias Burnett, Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Norwalk, An Election Sermon, Preached at Hartford, on the Day of the Anniversary Election, May 12, 1803 (Hartford: Printed by Hudson & Goodwin, 1803), pp. 27-28.]

FREDERICK DOUGLASS
I have one great political idea. . . . That idea is an old one. It is widely and generally assented to; nevertheless, it is very generally trampled upon and disregarded. The best expression of it, I have found in the Bible. It is in substance, “Righteousness exalteth a nation; sin is a reproach to any people” [Proverbs 14:34]. This constitutes my politics – the negative and positive of my politics, and the whole of my politics. . . . I feel it my duty to do all in my power to infuse this idea into the public mind, that it may speedily be recognized and practiced upon by our people.
[Frederick Douglass, The Frederick Douglass Papers, John Blassingame, editor (New Haven: Yale University Press, 1982), Vol. 2, p. 397, from a speech delivered at Ithaca, New York, October 14th, 1852.]

CHARLES FINNEY
[The time has come that Christians must vote for honest men and take consistent ground in politics or the Lord will curse them. . . . Christians have been exceedingly guilty in this matter. But the time has come when they must act differently. . . . Christians seem to act as if they thought God did not see what they do in politics. But I tell you He does see it – and He will bless or curse this nation according to the course they [Christians] take [in politics].
[Charles G. Finney, Lectures on Revivals of Religion (New York: Fleming H. Revell Company, 1868), Lecture XV, pp. 281-282.]

JAMES GARFIELD
Now more than ever the people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless, and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness, and corruption. If it be intelligent, brave, and pure, it is because the people demand these high qualities to represent them in the national legislature. . . . [If the next centennial does not find us a great nation . . . it will be because those who represent the enterprise, the culture, and the morality of the nation do not aid in controlling the political forces.]
[James A. Garfield, The Works of James Abram Garfield, Burke Hinsdale, editor (Boston: James R. Osgood and Company, 1883), Vol. II, pp. 486, 489, “A Century of Congress,” July, 1877.]

FRANCIS GRIMKE
If the time ever comes when we shall go to pieces, it will . . . be . . . from inward corruption – from the disregard of right principles . . . from losing sight of the fact that “Righteousness exalteth a nation, but that sin is a reproach to any people” [Proverbs 14:34]. . . .[The secession of the Southern States in 1860 was a small matter with the secession of the Union itself from the great principles enunciated in the Declaration of Independence, in the Golden Rule, in the Ten Commandments, in the Sermon on the Mount. Unless we hold, and hold firmly to these great fundamental principles of righteousness, . . . our Union . . . will be “only a covenant with death and an agreement with hell.”
[Rev. Francis J. Grimke, from “Equality of Right for All Citizens, Black and White, Alike,” March 7, 1909, published in Masterpieces of Negro Eloquence, Alice Moore Dunbar, editor (New York: Dover Publications, Inc., 2000), pp. 246-247.]

ALEXANDER HAMILTON
A share in the sovereignty of the state, which is exercised by the citizens at large, in voting at elections is one of the most important rights of the subject, and in a republic ought to stand foremost in the estimation of the law.
[Alexander Hamilton, The Papers of Alexander Hamilton, Harold C. Syrett, ed. (New York, Columbia University Press, 1962), Vol III, pp. 544-545.]

JOHN JAY
Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation, to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.
[John Jay, The Correspondence and Public Papers of John Jay, Henry P. Johnston, ed. (New York: G.P. Putnams Sons, 1890), Vol. IV, p. 365.]

The Americans are the first people whom Heaven has favored with an opportunity of deliberating upon and choosing the forms of government under which they should live.
[John Jay, The Correspondence and Public Papers of John Jay, Henry P. Johnston, ed. (New York: G.P. Putnams Sons, 1890), Vol. I, p. 161.]

THOMAS JEFFERSON
The elective franchise, if guarded as the ark of our safety, will peaceably dissipate all combinations to subvert a Constitution, dictated by the wisdom, and resting on the will of the people.
[Thomas Jefferson, The Writings of Thomas Jefferson, Albert Bergh, ed. (Washington: Thomas Jefferson Memorial Association, 1903), Vol. 10, p. 235.]

[Should things go wrong at any time, the people will set them to rights by the peaceable exercise of their elective rights.]
[Thomas Jefferson, The Works of Thomas Jefferson, Paul Leicester Ford, ed. (New York: G.P. Putnam’s Sons, 1905), Vol. 10, p. 245.]

WILLIAM PATERSON
When the righteous rule, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan.
[Supreme Court Justice William Paterson reminding his fellow justices of Proverbs 29:2. United States Oracle (Portsmouth, NH), May 24, 1800.]

WILLIAM PENN
Governments, like clocks, go from the motion men give them; and as governments are made and moved by men, so by them they are ruined too. Wherefore governments rather depend upon men than men upon governments. Let men be good and the government cannot be bad. . . . But if men be bad, let the government be never so good, they will endeavor to warp and spoil it to their turn. . . .[Though good laws do well, good men do better; for good laws may want [lack] good men and be abolished or invaded by ill men; but good men will never want good laws nor suffer [allow] ill ones.]
[William Penn quoted from: Thomas Clarkson, Memoirs of the Private and Public Life of William Penn (London: Richard Taylor and Co., 1813) Vol. I, p.303.]

DANIEL WEBSTER
Impress upon children the truth that the exercise of the elective franchise is a social duty of as solemn a nature as man can be called to perform; that a man may not innocently trifle with his vote; that every elector is a trustee as well for others as himself and that every measure he supports has an important bearing on the interests of others as well as on his own.
[Daniel Webster, The Works of Daniel Webster (Boston: Little, Brown, and Company, 1853), Vol. II, p. 108, from remarks made at a public reception by the ladies of Richmond, Virginia, on October 5, 1840.]

NOAH WEBSTER
In selecting men for office, let principle be your guide. Regard not the particular sect or denomination of the candidate – look to his character. . . . When a citizen gives his suffrage to a man of known immorality he abuses his trust; he sacrifices not only his own interest, but that of his neighbor, he betrays the interest of his country.
[Noah Webster, Letters to a Young Gentleman Commencing His Education to which is subjoined a Brief History of the United States (New Haven: S. Converse, 1823), pp. 18, 19.]

When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers, “just men who will rule in the fear of God.” The preservation of government depends on the faithful discharge of this duty; if the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made, not for the public good so much as for selfish or local purposes; corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the laws; the public revenues will be sqandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizens will be violated or disregarded. If a republican government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the divine commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the laws.
[Noah Webster, History of the United States (New Haven: Durrie & Peck, 1832), pp. 336-337, 49.]

JOHN WITHERSPOON
Those who wish well to the State ought to choose to places of trust men of inward principle, justified by exemplary conversation. . . .[And the people in general ought to have regard to the moral character of those whom they invest with authority either in the legislative, executive, or judicial branches.]
[John Witherspoon, The Works of John Witherspoon Edinburgh: J. Ogle, 1815), Vol. IV, pp. 266, 277.]

EGYPTIAN CHRISTIANS IN DANGER!

EGYPTIAN CHRISTIANS IN DANGER AFTER ALLEGEDLY ALLYING WITH ISRAEL! Ryan Jones (Israel Today News)

Egypt has parliamentary elections coming up next month and an important presidential election next year. As with similar regimes throughout history, the current rulers of Egypt need a scapegoat to take the voters’ attention off its disastrous social and economic policies (after all, rigging elections is so tedious).

Unfortunately for Egypt’s 10 million Christians, they are the perfect scapegoat in an increasingly radicalized Muslim society. To stir up the public against the Christians, Egyptian Muslim clerics and media outlets have circulated a claim that the nation’s Coptic Christian minority is importing weapons from Israel in preparation for an assault on Egypt’s Muslims.

The claim originated on the pan-Arab satellite news network Al Jazeera, which ensured that just about every Egyptian Muslim, if not every Middle East Muslim, was aware of the unfounded assertion that Egypt’s Christians were preparing for war with the aid of the hated “Zionist entity.”

Speaking on Al Jazeera on September 15, prominent Egyptian Muslim cleric Mohammed Salim al-Awwa declared that Egyptian Christians were “stocking arms and ammunition in their churches and monasteries – arms imported from Israel, no less, as Israel is at the heart of the Coptic Cause – and are preparing to wage war against Muslims.”

Other reports have included rumors that the Christian assault has already begun, and that Christian women who have converted to Islam are being kidnapped and tortured by the Copts.

Since those reports first started circulating last month, the Barnabas Fund, an organization that provides assistance to persecuted Christian communities, says that at least 10 large Muslim demonstrations against Christians have taken place in Egypt.

At least one Muslim group is calling for a “bloodbath” to be perpetrated against the Christian minority.

Further inflaming Muslim passions was an official Egyptian government body’s insistence that the Coptic Church formally apologize after one of its clergymen criticized a verse from the Koran that refers to Christians as “infidels.” The leader of the Coptic Church, Pope Shenouda III, promptly apologized, but the Muslim anger was not appeased.

Raymond Ibrahim, associate director of the Middle East Forum and a regular lecturer at the National Defense Intelligence College in Washington, DC, believes Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, held aloft by the West as the Middle East’s most “moderate” Arab leader, is behind the anti-Christian sentiment.
“Recent events indicate that the Mubarak regime is intentionally inciting Egypt’s Muslims against the Copts,” Ibrahim wrote for the Hudson Institute. “Not only has it not prevented or dispersed the increasingly rabid demonstrations against the Copts…but Egyptian security…actually facilitates, and sometimes participates in, these mass demonstrations.”

Ibrahim explained that the more secular Mubarak regime, which the aging and ill leader wants his son to take over, has only remained in power for so long thanks to an unwritten agreement with Egypt’s Islamist factions. Those factions are permitted to control the media, eduction and other government administration, and in return Mubarak’s rule is not too hotly contested.
Another Egyptian writer, Youssef Ibrahim, notes that “as part of the deal, Mubarak [also] agreed to feed Egypt’s Christians to the growing Islamic beast.”
Raymond Ibrahim concluded his piece by lamenting that “as Egypt reverts to its medieval character, the Copts find themselves again in a period of severe persecution.”

Tellingly, the international media has almost completely ignored this story,
while not failing to provide prime headline real estate whenever Israeli Jews build a few houses that upset the Palestinian Arabs. That the construction of Jewish apartments can result in emergency UN meetings, official condemnations and weeks of front page news, but the persecution and potential slaughter of Egypt’s Christians cannot is evidence that the international community’s motives are not truly humanitarian in nature.

IDF TANK SHELLS STOP THREE GAZA TERRORISTS; ONE KILLED!
by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu (IsraelNationalNews)

Islamic Jihad said one of their terrorists was killed Wednesday when a three-man cell approached the security fence and was met by tank fire at the northern edge of Gaza.

The two other terrorists escaped without injury, and the soldiers were not wounded in the incident. The Islamic Jihad said the cell was on a “mission.”

In a separate incident, foreign media reported that the IDF wounded a Gaza Arab who was looking for building material near the Erez crossing. Military spokespersons said they are investigating the report.

Terrorists in Hamas-controlled Gaza have sharply escalated mortar fire at Israel the past few days. Four shells were fired Wednesday morning, three of them missing their mark and landing in Gaza and the fourth exploding on a kibbutz farm near Sderot.

On Tuesday, five shells were fired, two of them landing in Gaza and three in the western Negev. No injuries or damage was reported in the mortar attacks.

The IDF has carried out a policy since shortly after the end of the Operation Cast Lead in early 2008 to retaliate after every terrorist attack. Gaza-based terrorists have attacked Israel with more than 300 mortar shells and rockets since the end of the ceasefire that ended the counterterrorist campaign.

ISRAEL’S DEPUTY MINISTER CHARGES ARCHBISHOP WITH ANTI-JEWISH REMARKS!

DEPUTY MINISTER CHARGES ARCHBISHOP WITH ANTI-JEWISH “Libel”
by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu (IsraelNationalNews)

The Catholic Synod in Rome last week was “hijacked” by anti-Zionists, Deputy Minister Danny Ayalon has charged. Ayalon also was “appalled” at an Archbishop’s statement that the Chosen People concept no longer applies only to Jews.

“We express our disappointment that this important Synod has become a forum for political attacks on Israel in the best history of Arab propaganda,” Ayalon said. “The Synod was hijacked by an anti-Israel majority.”

He called on the Vatican to distance itself from the “libel” in remarks by U.S. Archbishop Cyrille Bustros, a Lebanese native who chaired the Synod committee that summarized its criticism of a Jewish presence in united Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria.

The cleric also told reporters that the Biblical promise that the Land of Israel is for Jews, as the Chosen People, was “abolished by the presence of Christ.” He added, “For Christians, one can no longer talk of the land promised to the Jewish people… There is no longer a favored people, a chosen people; all men and women of every country have become the chosen people.”

“We are especially appalled at the language used by Archbishop Bustros during his press conference,” Ayalon remarked. “We call on the Vatican to distance themselves from Archbishop Bustros’ comments, which are a libel against the Jewish People and the State of Israel and should not be construed as the Vatican’s official position. These outrageous comments should not cast a shadow over the important relationship between the Vatican, the State of Israel and the Jewish People.”

After two weeks of discussions, the Synod called on the international community “to end the occupation of Arab lands.” Bustros added, “The theme of the Promised Land cannot be used as a basis to justify the return of the Jews to Israel and the expatriation of the Palestinians.”

Yigal Palmor, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, said the Synod clerics who expressed concern over the dwindling number of Christians in Israel were “committing a sin towards the truth” by forgetting to mention that “Israel is the one country in the region that is welcoming to Christians.”

(EDITOR’S NOTE: It is astonishing that these leaders have not only ignored Biblical truth, but have totally contradicted the teaching of the Bible which they are supposed to defend. The days of trusting Catholic leaders to teach the truth of the Bible are over! They have continually emphasized political correctness and convenience rather than Biblical truth – The CHOSEN PEOPLE are still the physical descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and the promise of Almighty God concerning the LAND is based on an EVERLASTING COVENANT! The words of this Synod are foolish, unbiblical, distortions, myths, and political bias against Israel!!! It’s time for all Christians of every denomination and background to stand without compromise for the NATION of ISRAEL – Jeremiah 31:31-37 makes it clear that the Nation of Israel will NEVER cease to exist!!!!)

CATHOLIC CHURCH REVEALS IT IS ANTI-SEMITIC – AGAIN!

CATHOLIC CHURCH: CHRIST NULLIFIED GOD’S PROMISES TO THE JEWS! (Israel Today News|)
Ryan Jones

A Catholic synod called at the Vatican to address the rising persecution of Christian in the Middle East wrapped up on Saturday with a joint statement that focused a lot of attention on demanding Israel end its “occupation” of Arab lands.

The gathering was meant to address the various acts of persecution, intimidation and discrimination that are resulting in a severe dwindling of Christian communities across the region.

But the bulk of the two-week meeting was spent discussing how Israel is the root cause of all the Middle East’s woes, including those faced by its Christians.

The final statement reflected that position. It listed the “occupation” of Arab lands, the building of Israel’s security barrier, military checkpoints, the jailing of terrorists (defined in the statement as “political prisoners”) and the general disruption of Palestinian life as some of the main reasons behind the exodus of Palestinian Christians and Muslim attacks on the Jewish state.

Cyril Salim Bustros, the Lebanon-born Greek archbishop of Our Lady of the Annunciation in Boston, Massachusetts was responsible for delivering the final statement.

In clarifying remarks, he stated that “the Holy Scriptures cannot be used to justify the return of Jews to Israel and the displacement of the Palestinians, to justify the occupation by Israel of Palestinian lands.”

He then escalated the situation by declaring that the original promises made by God to the children of Israel “were nullified by Christ. There is no longer a chosen people.”

Bustros rejected the idea of Israel as “the Jewish state,” and insisted that eventually all the so-called “Palestinian refugees” must return to the land, a sure recipe for the demographic destruction of the world’s only Jewish nation-state.

Mordechai Levi, Israel’s ambassador to the Vatican, decried Bustros’ comments and the damage they had done to strengthening ties between Israel and the Church.

The Catholic Church has for years been trying to repair its image as an institution steeped in anti-Semitism. But Bustros’ remarks make fairly clear that the Vatican remains as dedicated as ever to replacement theology – that teaching that says God has tossed aside the Jews, despite is irrevocable promises to them, and that “the Church” has instead inherited those promises.

(EDITOR’S NOTE: Once again we learn that the leaders in the Catholic Church are anti-Semitic in every way! Do any of these readers read the Bible at all? How utterly ridiculous are their words that our blessed LORD YESHUA, the Messiah of Israel, would cancel God’s EVERLASTING covenant with His people! This is utter nonsense at its best, and blasphemous at its core! May God open the eyes and hearts of all Catholics to such matters!)

CARTER WANTS OBAMA TO REMOVE HAMAS FROM TERRORIST LIST!

CARTER WANTS OBAMA REMOVE HAMAS FROM TERROR LIST!
by Zalman Nelson (IsraelNationalNews)

The Obama Administration should remove Hamas from the terrorist list, former President Jimmy Carter told media following his visit to Gaza today. He said he plans on pushing for the change when he meets with U.S. officials on Thursday to discuss his latest trip to the Middle East.

Carter’s comments came during a joint press conference with Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh following their meeting today in Gaza. The former President said he tried to convince Hamas leaders to denounce violence, accept the existing interim agreements and recognize the right of the Jewish state to exist.

“Hamas leaders want peace and they want to have reconciliation not only with their Fatah brothers but also eventually with Israelis to live side by side, with two nations, both sovereign nations recognized by each other and living in peace,” Carter said.

Haniyeh told Carter that he supported any plan that aims at preserving Arab rights and leads to the establishment of a sovereign Arab state on all the territories that were occupied by Israel in 1967 “with Jerusalem as its capital.” He urged Carter to pressure Israel to lift the security blockade which was imposed on Gaza’s border crossings to prevent weapons smuggling.

During his visit Carter handed over a letter from kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit’s parents and asked the group to deliver it on humanitarian grounds. He shared his version of a prisoner swap proposal which included releasing PA women, children, and parliament members he claimed were being held by Israel.

Haniyeh said Hamas desired to end the Shalit case and welcomed Carter’s mediation efforts.

Asked about his feeling after touring Gaza, Carter said, “My feeling is a feeling of sadness, anger and despair after seeing all this destruction that was caused to innocent people.” He said that he would send President Obama a report explaining in details the situation in Gaza.

Carter said he felt personally responsible that American weapons were during Israel’s offensive in Gaza in January to stop terrorists from launching rockets against Israeli civilians in the south. “I know that the Israeli destruction of houses, infrastructure, and factories in Gaza was carried out by American weapons. I hope that this won’t be repeated again,” he said.

DAVID IN ENGLAND!

Saturday, October 23rd, 2010

David is speaking this weekend at the Hayes Conference Center in England, a prophecy conference sponsored by Moriel Ministries and Jacob Prasch. David & Jacob are teaching from the Book of Romans. David has been asked to teach on Romans 11 on the RESTORATION OF ISRAEL.

The warm and enthusiastic reception of David’s ministry has been very encouraging. There is a strong hunger for the Word of God, and the people have been very responsive. It is said indeed to see so many churches in England that have now become Muslim mosques.

The staff and volunteers of Moriel Ministries are doing a wonderful job of handling this conference and are very sensitive to the needs of the speakers. It is a bit of a struggle because of jet lag to stay alert, but David seems to be doing all right. His recent fall down concrete stairs in the Winnipeg Prophecy Conference in September has left him with some back pain, but he is going fine. David is very concerned for his wife, Carole, who do to a bad fall last week was unable to make the trip with David to England. Carole was badly bruised, but praise the Lord – no broken bones! It will take a few weeks for her to heal. Thanks for your prayers!

We all need to pray for the work of the gospel all over the world, and for the churches to return to Biblical exposition, depending upon the power of the Holy Spirit!

Thanks for listening and PRAYING!!!

CBS REPORTER AGAINST CITY OF DAVID!

Thursday, October 21st, 2010

CBS NEWS REPORTER AIMS AT JERUSALEM’S CITY OF DAVID
by Chana Ya’ar (Arutz Sheva News)

CBS television network anchor Lesley Stahl is up in arms over Jerusalem’s Silwan neighborhood – known to Jews as Shiloach, and home to the City of David archaeological excavations. The reporter from the long-running Sunday evening “60 Minutes” program narrated a segment this week on the City of David, produced by Shachar Bar-On. During the segment, Stahl worked hard to cast aspersions on the validity of the archaeological findings in the City of David excavations and the unity of the city, and to delegitimize the presence of Jewish families in the area. The Jewish families are in houses bought by Jews, many of them Yemenites, before the creation of the State of Israel.

Describing a recent rock attack which ended badly when two of the young Arab rock throwers were hit by the car they had targeted as it swerved to avoid running over another young attacker, Stahl noted incidents in Silwan had “become violent.” Her comments, subtly editorialized, were carefully slanted to guide the viewer towards a Palestinian Authority viewpoint.
Stahl also claimed there was no proof that the City of David archaeological excavations were really connected to the Biblical King David. “But for all the talk of King David, one thing is glaringly missing here at the City of David,” she told the City of David Foundation’s director of development, Doron Spielman. “There’s actually no evidence of David, right?”

Excavations have shown ample proof of the presence of Jewish life in the City of David during Biblical times, including a signet ring bearing the seal of the man named in Kings !! as Jeremiah’s scribe.

She also bluntly charged Israel with using the archaeological excavations as a political tool to indoctrinate IDF troops. The journalist referred to the “scores and scores of soldiers coming through” the underground tunnel through which King David sneaked into Jerusalem to conquer the city. “There’s an implicit message that because David conquered the city for the Jews back then, Jerusalem belongs to the Jews today,” she observed. Spielman explained that such tours are part of the soldiers’ “cultural day” in order to help them understand what they are fighting for. “When we bring them here, they understand that they’re not just fighting for today – they actually represent the return of the Jewish people to Israel after thousands of years.” Stahl shot back: “So archaeology is being used as a political tool… I mean, I hate to use the word, but indoctrination, almost.”

Another “problem,” said Stahl, is what she called “an inconvenient truth that Biblical Jerusalem is not located in the western half of the city.” The CBS news reporter claimed that Biblical Jerusalem is located “right under the densely-populated Arab neighborhood of Silwan. And according to the Clinton parameters, Silwan should be part of a Palestinian state.” To remedy that, she charged, organizations that “move Jewish settlers into Arab areas have infiltrated Silwan.” She claimed the neighborhood is now at “the center of the battle to keep all of Jerusalem under Israeli control.”

“There’s a feeling of encroachment,” she said. “The Arabs feel it… That feeling of Jewish encroachment has been heightened by the mayor of Jerusalem, Nir Barkat, who is doing all he can to make sure east Jerusalem remains under Israeli sovereignty.”

Stahl went on to describe the mayor’s plan to build a national park in the part of the neighborhood that was never zoned for housing–even during the Jordanian occupation of the area–as it is called the King’s Garden in the Bible, a plan that involves demolition of 22 illegally-built Arab homes. The families who built the homes would receive comparable land, to rebuild nearby, although they have no legal claim to the land on which they have built and Jerusalem real estate is very costly.

“The European Union, the United Nations, has criticized this plan to get rid of these 22 homes,” Stahl said as she interviewed Barkat for the segment. “Public opinion, especially while the peace talks are under way, is – is looking at this and saying you’re trying to get rid – move Arabs out of Jerusalem. Why not wait till the peace talks are settled?” Barkat’s rejoinder: “Get your facts right before you bash Israel, before you bash Jerusalem.”
