A letter from the desk of Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi is sparking controversy in Egypt leaving people in disbelief that the Muslim Brotherhood leader had actually referred to the Israeli President as a “great friend.”

Yet skeptical Egyptians who have called the letter a “Zionist fabrication” have now been silenced, as a spokesman for Morsi confirmed on Thursday the authenticity of the letter, which was given to Shimon Peres by Atef Salem, Egypt’s Ambassador to Israel, on Wednesday at an official ceremony in the President’s residence.

The contents of the letter, which were leaked to the press, caused an uproar among Egyptians.

“Great and good friend,” Morsi wrote to Peres, “being desirous of maintaining and strengthening the cordial relations which so happily exist between our two countries, I have selected Mr. Atef Mohamed Salem Sayed El Ahl to be our Ambassador…” Morsi then closed the letter, by expressing “highest esteem and consideration.”

A similar letter written by Morsi in August and addressed to Peres was also met with skepticism among Egyptians, but was later revealed to be authentic. In the letter, Morsi expressed his desire for peace in the region, writing, “I take this opportunity to reiterate that I am looking forward to exerting our best efforts to getting the Middle East Peace Process back to its right track in order to achieve security and stability for peoples of the region, including the Israeli people.”

IRAN’S SECRET NUCLEAR-BOMB FACTORY REVEALED!

Iranian scientists are nearing completion of a nuclear warhead, having already successfully tested an implosion system and neutron detonator at a secret site while enriching uranium to weapons grade, according to a former Iranian intelligence officer.

The information comes from Hamidreza Zakeri, formerly with the Islamic regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and National Security, or MOIS.

Zakeri previously testified at the federal district court in Manhattan in the Havlish v. bin Laden civil lawsuit, where he provided proof that Iran had materially aided and supported al-Qaida before and after 9/11.

Think tank: Iran 2-4 months away from nuclear warhead

Zakeri, who has in the past provided credible information on another site to Western intelligence agencies, said that after the revelation of the existence of the Iranian atomic research facility in Lavizan-Shian, the team of scientists moved to a secret location in 2003.

The site was then demolished and the earth scraped clean by the Revolutionary Guards. Iranian authorities had denied an IAEA request to visit the site before the cleanup.

Lavizan-Shian was headed by the father of Iran’s nuclear bomb program, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh-Mahabadi.

A 2007 U.S. National Intelligence Estimate concluded that Iran had halted work on its nuclear bomb project in 2003 around the same time that the Iranian atomic research facility in Lavizan-Shian became known. The information was based on intelligence that funding for Fakhrizadeh’s work on the project had been frozen.

WND reported last week that a source affiliated with high Iranian officials confirmed Iran could announce a halt to the nation’s nuclear enrichment before next month’s U.S. election in a move to save Barack Obama’s presidency.

The source, who remains anonymous for security reasons, said a three-person delegation of the Obama Administration, led by a woman, engaged in secret negotiations with a representative of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The delegation urged the Iranian leader to announce a halt to enrichment, even if temporary, before the Nov. 6 election, promising removal of some sanctions.

The source said the delegation warned that a Mitt Romney Presidency would change the U.S. relationship with Iran regarding its nuclear program.

The U.S. representatives reminded the Iranians that President Obama has stood in front of Israel, preventing the Jewish state from attacking Iran over its illicit nuclear arms policy.

The head of Iran’s Atomic Organization, Fereydoon Abbasi-Davani, admitted last month that misleading facts were used to deceive the West and protect the country’s nuclear advances.

The revelation of the secret Iranian nuclear site, if verified, will dramatically change the Western outlook on the timing of Iran’s nuclear capability and will prove that not only the 2007 NIE conclusion was based on disinformation, but that the Islamic regime has already crossed Israel’s “red line” and is closing in on nuclear capability.

Fakhrizadeh-Mahabadi, a Revolutionary Guards officer and father of three, is on the U.N. Security Council asset freeze and travel notification list and was the key figure in negotiations and exchange of information with Abdul Qadeer Khan, the father of Pakistan’s nuclear bomb project, over Iran’s nuclear program. According to the source, he travels under the pseudonym of Hassan Mohseni.

He has been a mysterious figure as Iranian authorities have continuously denied the IAEA’s request to interview him. He and his team of scientists have continued their work out of the new secret site, the source said.

Construction of the new site, in the province of Isfahan on the outskirts of the small city of Najafabad, was begun in 1997 and completed in 2002 by Khatam al-Anbia, the engineering arm of the Revolutionary Guards.

To avoid suspicion, the site was built below the medicine factory, “Abu Reyhan.”

The facility beneath the factory has three levels, with two underground entrances away from the facility.

Sources in Iran have verified seeing transfer of equipment labeled with “radiation warning” that was then transferred to the underground facility. There is also a security post at the entrance to the road (“Medicine Road”) leading to the medicine factory.

Three very deep wells have been dug within the underground facility, although it is not clear why. But also a long underground passage leads to an emergency exit within the adjoining mountain.

Jafar Mohammadi, listed in an annex to U.N. Security Council Resolution 1737 of Dec. 23, 2006, as a person involved in Iran’s proliferation-sensitive nuclear activities, is in charge of managing and providing nuclear testing equipment and all technological elements for the facility.

The site – Velayat 1 – which was built with a capacity of 800 centrifuges for uranium enrichment, has been up and running for some time and currently is enriching uranium to weapons grade for the nuclear bomb project.

Fakhrizadeh-Mahabadi is being assisted by 10 other scientists, including four of high rank: Akbar Motalbizadeh, Saeid Rashvand, Mohammad Hassan Zahmatkesh and Mansor Roknizadeh. The others are Hossein Rastgar, Seyed Amir Hossein Feghhi, Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi, Mahmood Rahimzadeh, Abdulhamid Minochehreh and Jalal Shobairi.

They have been working at the site and on projects 2, 3, 4, 5, 110 (previously project 3) and 111, all within the SEPAND, known by the IAEA as SPND project and under the AMAD weapons program to build atomic warheads.

The site operates under the control of the Revolutionary Guards to expand research and development of nuclear, plutonium and atomic warheads.

Their activities include:
A: Enriching uranium to weapons grade.

B: Testing a neutron detonator and implosion system (chemical explosive lens). As a result of research at the facility, a test was done out of Iran’s Parchin military site several months ago. After the revelation of the high-explosives experiment activity, Iran started to clean up the site and continues to stonewall the IAEA’s request to inspect the Parchin site.

C: Designing and building a nuclear warhead to arm Iran’s Shahab 3 ballistic missile.

D: Separating plutonium for a plutonium implosion-type fission bomb. Iran’s heavy-water reactor near the city of Arak is nearing completion and is capable of providing spent fuel that, once processed, could produce plutonium for nuclear bombs. The separation of plutonium from fuel is an easy process requiring dual-use off-the-shelf equipment that Iran has already purchased.

The source indicated Fakhrizadeh-Mahabadi’s atomic warhead project seeks to build three nuclear warheads in its initial phase. Tests of the implosion system and neutron generator have been successful, the source said, and the design of the nuclear warhead is nearly complete.

The Aug. 30 IAEA report stated that Iran has increased the number of centrifuges to over 2,000 at its previously secret site at Fordow, deep in a mountain near the city of Qom, and is enriching to the 20 percent level. More than10,000 centrifuges are enriching uranium to the 3.5 percent level at Natanz, which currently has enough low-enriched uranium for six nuclear bombs if further enriched.

ISRAEL FORCED TO CONSIDER MILITARY ACTION IN SYRIA!

Syria could break apart, engulf Israel in violence!

Israel has been forced to consider injecting itself into Syria’s ongoing civil war in order to prevent the country’s chemical weapon stockpile from falling into the wrong hands, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed on Tuesday.

Netanyahu told European ambassadors that having Syrian weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) reach groups like Hizbullah, Hamas or even some of the Muslim Brotherhood-dominated rebel groups is unacceptable to the Jewish state.

“Israel will do everything it takes to ensure Syria’s chemical weapons do not fall into the hands of terrorist organizations, and if such a situation arises, then Israel will weigh a military option,” said Netanyahu.

Hizbullah and Hamas, both of which maintain headquarters in Syria and are close to the regime of besieged dictator Bashar Assad, have on numerous occasions bombarded Israeli civilian centers with conventional missiles. Were those projectiles to be outfitted with chemical warheads, the results would be catastrophic.

Two weeks ago, US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta acknowledged that America and other Western powers are no longer sure of the whereabouts of all of Syria’s chemical stockpile. “We just don’t know” if all of Syria’s WMDs are still under government control, Panetta told reporters at the Pentagon.

Panetta said it is conceivable that some of those weapons have already been seized by rebel forces, some of which are also affiliated with Al Qaeda, and therefore pose a grave threat to American interests.

OBAMA DOCTRINE EXPOSED

The main result of the Obama Doctrine is that the Islamist program has moved ahead a generation, far faster than its leaders ever dared to anticipate.

Arutz Sheva frequently posts op-ed column by this popular New York City based writer and freelance commentator, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center.

On Monday, Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney took President Obama to task for his Administration’s disastrous handling of American foreign policy, which has had catastrophic consequences — most recently in the form of the heinous attacks against our embassies in Libya and Egypt.

To understand what happened in Benghazi or in Cairo requires more than poking around the rubble, wiping off some of the ashes and pronouncing the whole thing a tragedy. The German invasion of Poland wasn’t the tragedy; the Munich Agreement was. Similarly the tragedy wasn’t the consulate and embassy attacks, but the foreign policy that caused them to happen.

The underlying philosophy Romney pointed to, the Obama Doctrine, has often been described as appeasement, but that’s a vague and general criticism. The Munich Agreement was appeasement, but the Obama Doctrine goes beyond anything as simple as appeasing as a single nation’s territorial ambitions.

The Obama Doctrine sought to resolve the War on Terror by dividing Islamists into two camps: the moderate political Islamists and the extremist violent Islamists. These categorizations were wholly artificial and everyone from Obama on down knew how artificial the differences between the so-called extremists and moderates were.

In Libya, the Muslim Brotherhood had transitioned the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group from the status of violent extremists allied with Al Qaeda to political Islamists committed to political reforms. That did not actually make the LIFG, which exploited its new found moderate status and the freedom that came with it to go on fighting Qaddafi as part of the civil war, non-violent. The difference between the Al Qaeda-affiliated LIFG and the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated LIFG was a few pieces of paper.

The gruesome absurdity of the whole thing was laid out plainly for all to see in Afghanistan. The plan for Afghanistan was not to defeat the Taliban, though that was how it was sold to the American people; it was to divide the Taliban into moderates willing to engage in a democratic political process and extremists who would be defeated and isolated.

The Afghanistan surge, which cost nearly 1,500 American lives, was a brute force mechanism for engineering a divide that was supposed to result in the military defeat of the Taliban and their transformation into a political party. The Taliban would be free to lock up Afghan girls again, so long as they did it after winning a democratic election.

The Muslim Brotherhood was called in to oversee negotiations between the United States and the Taliban, as it had between Qaddafi and the LIFG, but unlike the LIFG, the Taliban showed no interest in following the Muslim Brotherhood’s devious route to political power.

The difference between Afghanistan and the ‘Arab Spring’ countries is that those countries had strong governments capable of suppressing Islamist groups and forcing them to resort to the political process to accomplish what they could not manage through violence. However, Obama’s withdrawal timetable made it clear to the Taliban that all they had to do to win in Afghanistan was wait him out.

“Our enemies are little worms. I saw them at Munich,” Hitler told his generals. The Taliban commanders have likely shared a similar opinion of Obama’s coterie of amateur peacemakers and of the great man himself.

1,500 American soldiers died in Afghanistan to improve Obama’s leverage in his failed bid to transform the Taliban into a political party. It is hard to think of any aspect of his foreign policy more hideously repulsive than this simple fact.

The greatest error of the Obama Doctrine lay in assuming that the political path and the military path represented a fundamental and irreconcilable parting of the ways between moderates and extremists, when they were actually just two approaches for seizing power. Hitler used the political process to come to power, but then went back to the same old tactics to stay in power and to expand his power base.

The Obama Doctrine depended on moving as many Islamists as possible from the military camp to the political camp, assuming that they could not then go back or would not want to. But just as there was no barrier preventing violent Islamists from turning political, there was no barrier preventing political Islamists from turning violent. A totalitarian ideology need not turn its back on violence to participate in the political process.

North Africa is burning and the Islamists are the ones holding the torch.
The Muslim Brotherhood’s credo, “Allah is our objective; the Quran is our law, the Prophet is our leader; Jihad is our way; and death for the sake of Allah is the highest of our aspirations” made its ends clear without specifying how they had to be achieved. The political revolution or the suicide bombing were two means to the same end. Obama attempted to use the Muslim Brotherhood to achieve his objective of ending the War on Terror by isolating the violent Islamists and bringing them over into the ranks of the political Islamists. But the rise of Salafist violence in countries taken over by political Islamists has rekindled the War on Terror. North Africa is burning and the Islamists are the ones holding the torch.

The attacks of September 11, 2012, showed that not only had Al Qaeda not been defeated, but that the Islamist takeovers of Benghazi, Tunisia and Egypt had actually given it more freedom to operate. The overthrows of Qaddafi and Mubarak had left the security of the Benghazi consulate and the Cairo embassy in the hands of the Muslim Brotherhood. And the Muslim Brotherhood has always been at war with the United States.

Obama had taken credit for the Arab Spring and the defeat of Al Qaeda, but the attacks were a reminder that Al Qaeda was not defeated and that the governments of the Arab Spring now had him at their mercy. The plan to divide the Muslim Brotherhood from the other Salafists had failed.

Instead it had put the Muslim Brotherhood into the position of being the brokers of the Salafist violence, offering their protection against the “extremists” even while letting them do their worst.

In North Africa, the Obama Doctrine put the Muslim Brotherhood in power, and despite their current “moderate” political status, it will take a coup, a revolt or a war to get them out again. In Afghanistan, the Obama Doctrine squandered 1,500 lives to create a moderate Taliban while losing the war. In the Middle East it has destroyed every peace process that Israel has engaged in.

All of these are the overlooked tragedies that will lead to true bloodshed.

Like Chamberlain, Obama’s appeasement has given an aggressive supremacist ideology a confidence boost and a deep foothold in vital strategic territories, while dismantling and demoralizing allies. The Islamist program has moved ahead a generation, far faster than its leaders ever dared to anticipate. Osama Bin Laden is dead, but his phase of terrorist attacks is outdated now that Islamist parties and militias control entire countries that are far richer and better armed than Afghanistan.

The Obama Doctrine has been implemented and its net result has been to accelerate an inevitable war by a generation, and as the two-thousandth soldier killed in Afghanistan returns home in a flag-draped coffin, that victim of Obama’s cynical politics of appeasement is one of a number that may one day fall into the millions.

OBAMA MAKES SECRET DEAL WITH IRAN

The Oct. 1 meeting, which took place in Doha, Qatar, was coordinated by the Qatar monarchy, whose members attended at the request of the Obama Administration.

Ali Akbar Velayati, the former Iranian foreign minister and current close adviser to the supreme leader on international affairs, secretly traveled to Qatar for the meeting. Velayati is wanted by Argentina for the Jewish community center bombing in Buenos Aires in 1994 that killed 85 people.

One Obama representative, the woman, who had met Velayati before, urged Velayati to announce a halt, even if it is only for a week or two, to uranium enrichment prior to the U.S. election, according to the source. The U.S. representatives promised the Obama Administration quickly would remove some sanctions on the Iranian central bank and oil industry, with further collaboration after the election, the source said.

According to the source, the woman is trusted by the Iranians, having met with Velayati more than 10 times over the past 20 years. The woman took Lufthansa Flight 419 out of Washington to Frankfurt, then to Doha, Qatar, from there.

The secret meeting took place even as hundreds of merchants in Tehran marched on Parliament to protest the collapsing Iranian currency and the Islamic regime’s financial support for the besieged Syrian government of Bashar al-Assad.

Riot police violently clamped down on black-market money changers while merchants in the sprawling bazaar closed their shops during the protest. With inflation soaring, Iranian merchants can’t sell their goods, for fear they won’t be able to restock their shelves.

The negotiation was an extension of secret negotiations begun in early January when, according to Iranian officials and a report by Fars News Agency, Obama requested collaboration with the Islamic regime through three different channels. The channels were a letter to the supreme leader, a message to the Iranian U.N. delegate and a direct message through Swiss Ambassador Livia Leu Agosti in Tehran in a meeting with Iranian Foreign Ministry officials, who quoted a message from Obama.

The Obama message said: “I didn’t want to impose sanctions on your central bank, but I had no options but to approve it since a Congress majority had approved the decision.”

A unanimous U.S. Senate vote had approved strong sanctions against the Iranian central bank and oil industry, but with a veto threat by the President, the effective date of the implementation of the sanctions was delayed to July 1.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said recently in Kazakhstan that the sanctions can be lifted immediately if the regime meets its nuclear obligations. She blamed its leaders for the financial crisis and spreading protests and said U.S. policy only seeks to convince the regime to seriously negotiate over its uranium enrichment program.

The Islamic leaders face increasing challenges with the Iranian people, a majority of whom resent the regime and are once again gathering energy to confront it with the hope of achieving regime change and freedom and democracy.

Fox News has reported that Iranian authorities dispatched riot police to key locations in Tehran just within the last 24 hours because of the turmoil over the plunging value of the nation’s currency. Many shop owners were closed the day before, and trash bins were burned as citizens and security forces clashed. More than a dozen were “detained.”

In 2009, when Iranians came out by the millions demanding change and urging Obama to support them, the Administration instead negotiated with the regime in the hope of reaching a solution over Iran’s nuclear program. Though the Islamic leaders promised to collaborate with the President once the masses were fully suppressed, the Iranian leaders announced that not only was the offer no longer acceptable but they had further progressed with their nuclear program by reaching a milestone of enriching uranium to the 20-percent level.

The Aug. 30 IAEA report showed Iran has doubled the number of centrifuges at its Fordow facility deep within a mountain to more than 2,000, and work continues unabated at the 20-percent enrichment level. Meanwhile, more than 10,000 centrifuges at the Natanz facility are enriching to the 3.5-percent level, with enough low-enriched uranium for six nuclear bombs should Iran decide to enrich further

About a year ago, a book called “Where’s the Birth Certificate? The Case That Barack Obama Is Not Eligible to Be President” by New York Times bestselling author Jerome Corsi was the fastest-selling new book in the country a month before its scheduled release.

On the day it hit No. 1 at Amazon, White House records indicate Obama was desperate to derail the issue of eligibility from breaking through into the mainstream media, which has been complicit in covering up all questions pertaining to the issue for four years.

What Obama did next was not unexpected by Corsi and the WND Books team that published it.

“Jerry Corsi called me a couple weeks earlier and told me his sources said the White House was going to release a fraudulent Hawaiian birth certificate before the book released to head off the success of the book and to end the burgeoning controversy,” says Joseph Farah, founder and chief executive officer of WND and WND Books. “There was not much we could do about that. We were anticipating the move and planning to subject the document to intense forensic investigation.”

On April 27, 2011, the White House posted the alleged long-form birth certificate on its official government website to quell the growing doubts about its existence.

“The media, partners in the crime of the cover-up of Obama’s ineligibility for the Presidency, quickly embraced the document without even a cursory examination,” said Farah.

Farah is continuing a campaign he believes was responsible for raising awareness of the eligibility issue when the media wouldn’t give him the time of day – the national billboard campaign asking the question, “Where’s the Real Birth Certificate?” Hundreds of billboards have been placed all over the country over the last three years, and Farah plans to continue the campaign right through Election Day.

GAZA TERRORISTS FIRE MISSILE AT ISRAELI AIRCRAFT

Terrorists in Hamas-controlled Gaza last week fired a missile, smuggled from Libya, at an Israeli aircraft but missed its target, the Hebrew-language newspaper Yediot Aharonot reported.

Military intelligence previously has said that Hamas and other terrorist organizations have stockpiled a large number of anti-aircraft missiles but have not used them in order not to spark an escalation in IDF retaliation.

Last Friday, unidentified terrorists reportedly fired a Russian made Strela-2 missile, one of many that have been smuggled into Gaza and the Sinai Peninsula since the fall of Muammar Qaddafi earlier this year. Intelligence officials estimate that approximately 1,000 of the missiles are missing from the Libyan army’s arsenal, and many of them found their way into the hands of terrorists in Gaza and the Sinai.

Commercial aircraft already have been warned to steer clear of the Gaza region, and military sources see the use of anti-aircraft missiles as a sig? that Hamas is ready to force an escalation of violence with Israel, possibly including a massive rocket barrage within a short period of time.

The Strela-2 surface-to-air missile system is shoulder-fired and has a high explosive warhead and passive infrared homing guidance. It can hit aircraft flying as fast as 1,800 kmh (1,118 miles an hour) and at altitudes up to 2,300 meters (7,500 feet).

Although Friday’s attempted missile strike was the first report of an anti-aircraft missile aimed at the Air Force from Gaza, Sinai terrorists fired the same type of missile a year ago in the deadly attack on Israelis on Highway 12, adjacent to the Egyptian-Sinai border. Six people were killed.

The missile was fired at an IAF helicopter from inside Egypt and missed its target.

WAS THE DRONE INFILTRATION OF ISRAEL A DECLARATION OF WAR?

The Hizbullah drone infiltration into Israel “amounts to a declaration of war,” worried former Lebanese Prime Minister Siniora has warned. Former Prime Minister Sa’ad Hariri also said he fears the drone incident could drag Lebanon into a war with Israel, the Beirut Daily Star reported.

The unusually harsh criticism of the Iranian-backed terrorist party and network opened up wounds of years of dissent between nationalists and pro-Syrian and pro-Iran factions. Lebanon suffered from a devastating 15-year civil war until 1990 and has been wracked by political instability ever since.

Siniora, who now heads Hariri’s heads Future bloc, said that Hizbullah’s “action shows that it was an Iranian decision … No doubt this action needs techniques that are available only in Iran. It was an Iranian action that implicated Lebanon in regional and international struggles and consequently, made us in Lebanon a platform for the exchange of messages.”

Siniora did not spare praise for Hizbullah’s “military and technical achievement against the Israeli enemy” but added, “This action in my belief constituted a provocation against Israel because as Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah indicated, the drone flew over waters overlooking the coasts of the occupied territories and over land, south of the occupied territories in Israel.

“Therefore, there are some who point to an issue relating to the gas and oil installations on the occupied territories’ coasts and also the Israeli atomic reactors in Dimona. This in itself amounts to a declaration of war.”

He criticized Nasrallah for not consulting with the Lebanese government, which is dominated by the terrorist organization and pro-Syrian parties.

“We find that Hizbullah is not only implicating Lebanon in the conflict in Syria, but also in the midst of regional and international struggles concerning Iran and Iran’s nuclear program and in its [Hizbullah’s] role in the developments in Syria.”

Siniora’s concerns reflect the fragile nature of the government, which has been in continual crisis during a creeping domination of Hizbullah over Lebanon’s affairs.

Israel leaders have defined Hizbullah as being a “state within a state,” and IDF officers have noted that there often is no distinction between the Lebanese army and Hizbullah forces.

Both Israel and anti-Syrian parties in Lebanon are concerned that Syrian President Bashar Assad will turn to Hizbullah to escalate attacks against Israel to divert attention from the Syria civil war.

MEET AN OBAMA MUSLIM FAVORITE

President Barack Obama has sent Muslim Public Affairs Council director Salam Al Marayati, who has said that Israel is a “suspect” in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, to represent the United States at a human rights conference in Warsaw.

The Obama Administration chose him to attend the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe’s (OSCE) annual 10-day human rights conference. He told the OSCE participants in Warsaw, “Hate speech that intends to degrade, intimidate, or incite violence against someone based on religion is harmful.”

However, Al Marayati once told a radio host, “If we’re going to look at suspects [behind the 9/11 attacks], we should look to the groups that benefit the most from these kinds of incidents, and I think we should put the state of Israel on the suspect list because I think this diverts attention from what’s happening in the Palestinian territories so that they can go on with their aggression and occupation and apartheid policies.” His comments were reported by The New York Times.

Two years before 9/11, former Democratic Congressman Dick Gephardt, who was a House Minority Leader, selected al-Marayati to sit on a 10-person commission “charged with reviewing U.S. policies on terrorism.”

His human rights record includes a request by his Muslim Public Affairs Council organization (MPAC) that the United States remove the Hamas and Hizbullah terrorist groups from the list of designated terrorist groups. The Investigate Project on Terrorism found that al Marayati has called attacks by Hizbullah “legitimate resistance.”

He also has criticized the arrest of 11 Muslims who yelled racist epithets at Israel Ambassador Michael Oren at the University of California at Irvine and prevented him from speaking for 20 minutes before police escorted them out of the building.

Al Marayati justified the outburst in an article in the Huffington Post, in which he wrote, “One may disagree with the style and tactics demonstrated by the 11 students, but the central issue is not responding to the disruption by the students. Rather, the main focus should be on understanding what led to that action. The protest of Ambassador Oren’s speech did not occur within a vacuum, but rather as a reaction to a string of numerous attempts to stigmatize Muslim students of UCI and squelch their free speech….

“The 11 Muslim students took a stand for another people’s human rights, for what the best of America represents, and for what millions of people around the world admire Americans. So I thank the students for reminding me of why I am a proud American — because I have the responsibility of celebrating my freedom by demanding it for others.”

His record of defending terrorists goes back at least a decade. In 2002 he referred positively to Rashid Ghannouchi, the head of Tunisia’s banned Muslim Brotherhood-aligned Al-Nahda Party who was convicted for a bomb blast. Al Marayati said, “Ghannouchi is an example of those who promote this need for dialogue between civilizations, not confrontation.”

After a 1996 suicide bombing attack in Jerusalem that killed one person and injured 23 others, he said that the shooting of the attacker at the scene was a “provocative act,” according to the Investigative Project on Terrorism.

A State Dept. official replied to criticism of the appointment and told the Washington Free Beacon, “Mr. al-Marayati has been involved in U.S. government initiatives for almost 10 years and has been a valued and highly credible interlocutor on issues affecting Muslim communities.”

Josh Block, a former Clinton administration official who now serves as CEO of The Israel Project, told the Free Beacon, “It is inexplicable that a person who blamed Israel for the 9/11 attacks and advocated for terrorist organizations, including Hamas and Hizbullah—which has killed more Americans than any terrorist group in the world except al Qaeda—was chosen to represent the United States.”

‘Obama presidency has harmed Israel,’ says Israeli official
Obama, Palestinians irked by Romney remarks on Jerusalem

With the US presidential election just a little more than one month away, and with Israel becoming a bigger election issue than ever before, Israelis themselves have an increasingly unfavorable view of President Barack Obama.

A poll commissioned by The Jerusalem Post revealed that a 28 percent plurality of Israelis today view the Obama Administration as siding with the Palestinians and wider Arab world in their conflict with Israel.

Only 18 percent see the current White House as siding with Israel, while 40 percent were unsure. Traditionally, the vast majority of Israelis have viewed the US government as siding with the Jewish state against its antagonists.

The Post has been conducting the same exact poll since Obama officially took office in 2009. In the first poll, before Obama really sunk his teeth into the Israeli-Arab situation, 31 percent of Israelis believed that Obama, like his predecessors, would be pro-Israel, despite the fact that most Israelis also believed him to be a Muslim.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has only thinly veiled the fact that he would prefer challenger Mitt Romney to win the American election, and at the weekend Netanyahu took another shot at the incumbent Obama.

Speaking to the blog of the popular journal Foreign Policy, Netanyahu’s special envoy to the US and Europe, Zalman Shoval, blasted Obama for his weak approach toward Iran’s nuclear program.

“The Obama Administration’s ‘red line’ is wavering and the Iranians are reaching dangerous conclusions from that,” said Shoval, who is a former Israeli Ambassador to the US.

Romney has repeatedly accused Obama of “throwing Israel under the bus” when it comes to the Iran threat. It would seem Netanyahu agrees, and would like the American voters to take that into account next month.

A Messianic Jewish congregation in Bowling Green, Kentucky recently hosted a most unusual guest speaker – a co-founder of Lebanon’s Hizballah terrorist militia, a group dedicated to the destruction of Israel.

Dr. Daniel Shayesteh was a political and military figure in the regime of Ayatollah Khomeini in Iran in the 1980s. He is said to have helped with the formation of Hizbullah, and with the training and indoctrination of the terrorists who make up its ranks.

While visiting Hope in Messiah, a Messianic congregation headed by Jonathan Sacks, Shayesteh said that faith in Yeshua had transformed him from a man of hate into a man of love.

“It is amazing to me that I was a man preparing young boys and girls with hatred toward Christianity,” Shayesteh told local ABC affiliate WBKO.

That statement also revealed an often forgotten aspect of the situation in Lebanon, that Hizbullah and the Islamists at work there hate not only Israel, but Lebanon’s large Christian population, as well.

Shayesteh is currently touring the US speaking at churches and promoting his books “Christ Above All” and “The House I Left – A journey from Islam to Christ”.
